Totally Insufficient!

Props to Makky for pointing me to this. Hilarious.

Snakes! I tell ye!

His Christopher Walken and Joe Pesci are right on the money. Not so much for the others. Most of his acts are on YouTube and that's why I love the site. It's true that most of the stuff is crap but there are plenty of gems like this.

I was once Grey, now I am White!

I return once again from a deep and enlightened meditation into the great spiritual realm. I am reborn, and I have been baptized in the waters of knowledge and wisdom. Great have been the visions I have seen, but such forbidden lore is not for those of who do not walk the path. So lay to rest your fears of my premature demise.

P.S. My precognitive powers allow me to sense what my esteemed brother's reaction will be to news of my return.... I think it shall be along the lines of "Bollocks!"

P.P.S. Anyone who gets the reference from the title gets a cookie.

Digital Pipe Dreams

I was following a random train of thought on my way to work today and latched upon an idea that had been simmering somewhere in the back of my brain for a while. All my methods of methods of media entertainment have become convergent, more or less.

I don't watch TV anymore, atleast not on the ol' boob tube (Love that phrase). What's the alternative you may ask? Well I download episodes of interesting series. Babylon 5 for instance (A gem of a sci-fi series that deserves a post all its own). What about games? That too. Movies? Ditto. Music? Started ages back!

I still go to watch a movie at a theatre once in a very blue moon but its more of a social exercise than entertainment. I'm not saying its easy or particularly expedient but I watch what I want, when I want. Same for goes for gaming.

What does that really mean for the future of MSM? (MainStream Media) To be honest i'm not sure that it's the end of MSM, but there is some kind of major change in the pipeline. And MSM, as we know it, will cease to exist.

The First Coming Is Neigh

I was spying today's Delhi Times and what do I see? A front pager about ol' PH herself headed to Indian shores sometime next year. My joy could not be eclipsed in any way, oh how I rejoiced at the news......Hmm time to turn off the sarcasm. And this satanic act is being facilitated by a son of India's own soil as it were (more or less, look he's of Indian descent, now drop it). I feel betrayed on some basic nationalistic level. He even goes so far as to call her the ultimate "It" girl (emphasis on ultimate). My retort would be - It what? There are plenty of monsters from the horror movie lexicon who want a name change, now that their label has been usurped by PH.

In less depressing news... I finish on-the-job training and go full time as of tomorrow. However, I feel a bit underwhelmed now that I have a firm understanding of what the job entails. Imagine being a talented painter brimming with ideas, now imagine being straightjacketed and banned from ever holding a brush. That is the approximate feeling I get.

In conclusion... I need a new job, proto.

The Festival of Money, Traffic... Shopping

The pre-Diwali rush is on and the roads are packed. The traffic in Delhi is unbelieveable this time of year. The only thing i'm hoping to pick up is a new Cellphone. My current one is headed for the great scrap heap in the sky and I hope to pick up a replacement before that comes to pass. Anyone have any tips as i'm more or less clueless about this particular technological doohickey.

Doohickey! What a lovely word. Doohickey! Doohickey! Doohickey!

So ends my random lunacy for the day. Adieu folks.

Huzzah! Comments

I've got comments folks! It's a bloody miracle I tell ya. Kudos to the kind souls who felt inclined to contribute to my humble Blog. Though a part of me is quick to point that I haven't posted in almost 11 days now and that might have something to do with the issue at hand.

Well I would like to state that the my training at work and the sudden availability of some computer games is to blame. It wasn't me folks, No sirrie! It was the dark influence of my PC that caused me to shirke me duties.

Being Hilton

I know numerous theories behind why Paris Hilton is so popular in media, whether in the west or even the east. But it's just so unfathomable that she has remained a favorite topic for such a very long time. I once had a chat with someone who argued that our very our Rakhee Sawant was far worse than Paris Hilton. She also mentioned that Paris Hilton is an "Heiress" and thereby subject to some pan-dimentional social law. My friend is otherwise fairly sane and levelheaded, but something about PH bring along a kind of temporary concussion, a fate shared by many media writers and presenters I'm sure.

Which brings me to my next topic. I have two divergent opinions about the phenomenon that is PH. Either she is as air-headed and vain as she appears to most people and her popularity is some sort of mass-social error, or - and this is a doozie - she is incredibly intelligent and media savvy, merely projecting this persona and milking it for everything it's worth. I imagine that she sits in her Evil Volcano Lair having a mighty laugh as to the gullibility of the media consuming population. I expect eventually she'll amass enough wealth to start off on her campaign to - "Take Over The WORLD!"

P.S. Yes I know I do happen to know that by merely mentioning her here, I perpetuate the very phenomena that I hate so much. Perhaps I'm sleeper agent under PH control or merely trying to get into her good graces before she unleashes her vengeance on an oblivious world. Sadly we shall never know, cause I'm not telling.

Enter the Phrase Mangler

Boy do I know how to really screw up some classic phrases, "Cog in the wheel" indeed. I even have a habit to using the pseudo-phrase "Up a tree without a paddle" which I assure you is a bastardization of two very common and oft used phrases. I'm sure people who have heard me speak a lot (i.e. everyone) know of more examples. I do so love bandying about my skill in English that once in a while it's humbling to beaten about the head with the stick of error.

A Music Video of Titanic Propotions

This is one of Weird Al Yankovic's spoofs and one of my all time favourite music videos. Pure comedy I tell ya. There are plenty more of the same on YouTube and they are recommended if you want to unwind and laugh a bit.

In case in you're totally clueless and have no idea whose video is being made fun of, then just flip to the word pedophile in any dictionary and/or encyclopedia and refer to the picture. Seriously though, the man (and I use that term loosely) was music legend in his time. This was before an angry tribe of vicious plastic surgeons attacked and left him disfigured for life.

Just Another Cog In The Wheel

ZVR. If you think about it, it has a rather mysterious ring to it. It just so happens to be my employee ID at the KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing) firm that I now work in. I just had to pen down my initial impression of the place and it is still way to early to make any kind of final judgment. However I did get the impression that I was just one among many faceless minions of a largish company and to be honest that definition doesn't quite sit well with me. Don't ask me why, I'm really not sure. The fact that several of my friends are already employed there seemed to make no difference to my perception; it still seemed like a cold and mechanical place.

I have a sneaky suspicion that I may be more comfortable in a smaller environment and with a little more interpersonal interaction. But beggars can't be choosers, so I’m going to shut up now.

In other news, my other blog - the domain for which was oh-so-generously donated by my brother - seems to be on the fritz. For the time being I’ll continue to post on this particular site.

Triumphant Return to the Blogosphere!

I’m back! You know, I always meant to get back to Blogging one day. I guess way too much procrastination got in the way.

(Yes I know this it looks like a mirror to the other one. That's beacuse it is. I just wanted to try out Blogger. Now hush with the smart remarks.)
